C70 Defrost Air Distribution Flap Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Volvo C70 owner experienced a problem with the defrost air distribution flap, resulting in reduced heating output and an error message. The issue was suspected to be due to a bad cable or plug connection. Another owner with similar past issues suggested checking the blower motor and temperature regulation. Ultimately, the problem was confirmed to be a defective cable connection to the defrost air distribution flap, which was resolved by a mechanic.

Thanks! The blower motor seems okay, but I'll double-check. Do you remember if you got the same error message? And where should I check the temperature regulation?

Yeah, that error message sounds familiar. I messed with it for weeks, but it was beyond me. I'd suggest a workshop visit. They found a defective cable or plug connection to the defrost air distribution flap pretty quickly.

Thanks so much! I went to my mechanic, and the defrost air distribution flap was indeed faulty. Like you said, it was a defective cable connection. Cost me 95€ to fix.

Interesting. I own a C70. Last winter I had similar heating problems. Windshield fogging was a nightmare, and the climate control was acting up! Did you check the blower motor? Maybe it’s not pushing enough air. Is the temperature regulation working at all?
