C70 Engine Power Loss
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Volvo C70 experienced a significant drop in engine power with the check engine light on, suggesting a potential issue with the throttle valve. The symptoms included a delayed response and poor air intake, resembling limp mode. The problem was confirmed to be a defective throttle valve, which was resolved at a repair shop, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Limp mode is exactly what it feels like! Fuel efficiency is down the drain too! Accelerator pedal module, you say? Is that a common issue? How did you figure that out?

Yes, limp mode is the pits, isn't it? Given the symptoms you described, it points toward the accelerator pedal module or possibly some faulty electronics within the throttle system. I'd recommend getting it checked out at a workshop. A defective throttle valve is a possibility.

Thanks! I took your advice and brought it to a shop. Turns out it WAS the throttle valve. Cost me 265€ to get it sorted, but at least it's running smoothly now. Cheers!

I had a similar issue with my C70. Reduced engine power and the check engine light – sounds familiar! Does it feel like the car is in limp mode? Have you noticed any changes in your fuel efficiency or air flow? It might be linked to the accelerator pedal module.
