C70 fuel filter heater error

I'm experiencing a persistent issue with my 2009 Volvo C70 diesel. I've got 224589 km on the clock. Getting error codes related to the fuel filter heater, and it's impacting performance. Symptoms include reduced engine power, poor engine response, higher fuel consumption, and an uneven idle. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Anyone else encountered this?

I had similar symptoms on my C70. Have you checked the voltage at the fuel filter heater plug itself? A bad connection there could definitely cause those issues. Is the fuel line damaged by any chance?

Thanks for the tip. I'll check the voltage. By damaged fuel line, do you mean leaking or something else?

Leaking yes, but also any kinks or restrictions that could be messing with fuel flow. However, given the error codes, the heater circuit is a prime suspect. I'd advise getting it properly diagnosed by a workshop to pinpoint the exact problem, if you cannot fix it yourself.

Thanks. Voltage was indeed low. As you suspected, the cable was defective. Repair cost was 95€. All sorted now!
