C70 Jerking Acceleration

I'm having issues with my 2012 Volvo C70 with a gasoline engine. The check engine light is on, and the car jerks during acceleration. I've also noticed whistling and loud hissing when accelerating, and the engine occasionally stalls at idle. Fuel consumption is higher than usual, and engine power feels reduced. I suspect a faulty boost pressure sensor. Anyone seen this before?

Whoa, sounds like a party of problems! That whistling and hissing, plus the stalling? Yeah, boost sensor is a prime suspect. But also check the wiring and the plug going into the sensor itself. I once had a similar issue on an old turbo Saab – turned out the plug was loose and corroded. Worth a quick peek before you throw parts at it.

Thanks for the advice. Could you explain how to properly inspect the cable and plug connection? I want to make sure I'm doing it correctly before replacing the sensor.

No problem! Honestly, it's pretty straightforward. Just give the wires a gentle wiggle and see if anything feels loose or looks damaged. Look for any green gunk on the contacts inside the plug – that's corrosion. If you're not comfortable or don't see anything obvious, I'd suggest heading to a trusted shop. Better safe than sorry with boost issues!

I appreciate the guidance. I checked the connection, and it seemed intact, so I took it to the workshop. Turns out it was indeed the boost pressure sensor, and the cable plug was defective, as you suspected. The repair cost 95€ Thanks again for your help!
