C70 Oil Pressure Warning
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Volvo C70 owner experienced an oil pressure warning light, with the oil appearing dark and sludgy, possibly due to oil contamination. The issue was likely caused by a clogged oil filter and overdue maintenance. The suggested solution was to check and replace the oil filter and perform an oil change, which resolved the problem after being addressed at a workshop.

So, you think a clogged oil filter is the main culprit? Was your oil also looking pretty grim when that happened to you? How long had it been since your last oil change when you noticed it?

Yeah, the oil looked pretty bad, almost black. I'd get it checked at a workshop asap. Could be something more serious, but hopefully it's just that. Best to be safe than sorry with these engines.

Thanks. I took it to the shop, and you were right – overdue oil change, clogged filter, plus some sludge buildup. Cost me 165€, but at least it's sorted! Appreciate the advice!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar thing happen with my C70. Check your oil filter. If it's clogged, that could definitely cause oil pressure issues and make the oil look nasty.
