C70 outside temperature sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Volvo C70 is experiencing issues with the outside temperature sensor, affecting the air conditioning, spray nozzles, and mirror heating. The problem may be due to a defective cable, plug connection, or the sensor itself. A visual inspection showed no damage, but the sensor could still be faulty. It is recommended to conduct sensor diagnostics at a workshop, as replacing the sensor resolved a similar issue for another owner.

I have visually inspected the sensor, but I didn't notice any visible damage. Could the sensor be defective even without visible signs of damage?

Yes, that's possible. While a visual inspection is good, the sensor itself could be faulty. Given the symptoms, it is likely a sensor malfunction. I'd recommend sensor diagnostics at a workshop to confirm, but my problem was solved after sensor replacement.

I appreciate the information. I will take it to a workshop for diagnostics. The repair cost is estimated at 95€. Thank you for your help!

I had a similar problem with my C70. The outside temperature reading was completely off, affecting the AC and other systems. Have you checked the sensor itself for any physical damage or corrosion? It's usually located near the front of the car.
