C70 rough running exhaust leak
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Volvo C70 was experiencing rough running, a check engine light, an exhaust leak, and a strong exhaust smell. The issue was suspected to be related to the lambda sensor. After a workshop inspection, it was confirmed that the lambda sensor was the cause, and replacing it resolved the problem.

I haven't really checked the fuel consumption. Where was the exhaust leaking on your C70? Was it near the front of the car?

Honestly, I didn't pinpoint the exact leak location myself. With those symptoms, and the check engine light, it's beyond my abilities. I'd suggest getting it checked out at a workshop. It could be the lambda sensor, like you suspect, but better safe than sorry.

Thanks for the tip! The workshop confirmed it was indeed the lambda sensor. Repair cost me 375€. Runs great now!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my C70, though I didn't notice the exhaust smell as much. Is your fuel consumption also higher than normal?
