C70 solar sensor fault insufficient heating

I'm having a problem with my 2012 Volvo C70 diesel. The error memory shows a solar sensor fault, and the heating isn't working well. I'm thinking it might be a bad cable or plug to the sensor. Has anyone else seen this?

Oh, solar sensor issues are the WORST! I had something similar with my old Peugeot 308. The climate control was all over the place. Did you check the sensor itself for any visible damage? Sometimes they just get gunked up with dirt.

I looked at the sensor, but it seems okay. Were your symptoms the same? I already checked the fuses.

Yeah, pretty much the same. The heating would be weak, then suddenly blast hot air. Really annoying! Honestly, after messing around for a while, I just took it to a workshop. Turned out to be a corroded connector. Best to get it checked properly.

Thanks for the advice. I had it inspected, and the cable connection was indeed defective. Repair cost was 95€. Problem solved.
