Thanks for the info! No, I haven't tested the battery with a multimeter yet. I don't have one. But what was the solution with your Opel Insignia?

Well, after having similar symptoms and error messages, it turned out that the battery had deteriorated to the point where it couldn't maintain sufficient charge for the start-stop system to function. In the end, I decided to visit the workshop. They confirmed that the battery needed replacement because the cold cranking amps were too low. It might be a good idea to visit a local workshop to rule out any other problems. I am not a professional, just a fellow user.

Thanks a lot! I'll take your advice and get the battery checked out at a shop. It ended up being exactly what you thought. Battery was replaced for 290€. Now the start-stop is working perfectly again!

Hello. I had a similar problem with my start-stop on a 2014 Opel Insignia; also gasoline. The 'start-stop' or 'Eco' mode relies heavily on the battery's charge level. If the battery isn't holding enough charge, the system will disable itself and can trigger warning lights. In essence, the start-stop system prevents the engine from turning off if it believes it might not be able to restart it quickly, or if essential electrical systems require continuous power. Did you test the battery with a multimeter?
