C8 cold start injector issue

Alright Citroen C8 buddies, listen up! My 2010 C8 with the gasoline engine is playing silly buggers. It starts like a tractor in winter, and the engine runs rough when it's cold. Could it be a dodgy injector? I'm thinking of trying some injector cleaner, but is that just snake oil? Anyone had similar cold start problems?

Summary of the thread

A 2010 Citroen C8 with a gasoline engine is experiencing rough cold starts, leading to suspicions of a faulty injector. The owner considers using injector cleaner but questions its effectiveness. After consulting, it is suggested that the issue is likely due to a defective injector, and professional diagnosis and replacement are recommended. Ultimately, the cold start injector is replaced at a workshop, resolving the problem and restoring smooth engine performance.

Indeed, poor cold starting and rough running are common indicators of injector issues. How many kilometers are on the vehicle? Has the fuel filter been replaced recently? Have you noticed any changes in fuel consumption or any unusual smells?

It's got 125804 km on the clock. Fuel filter was changed about a year ago. Fuel consumption seems normal, but I do sometimes get a whiff of unburnt fuel. So, it's definitely the injectors, you reckon? What's the best way forward?

Given the mileage, the symptoms, and the occasional smell of fuel, a defective injection valve/injector is certainly a very strong possibility. While injector cleaner might offer a temporary improvement, a proper diagnosis and potential replacement at a workshop is the recommended course of action to ensure optimal fuel delivery and engine performance. I'd advise against DIY repairs on the fuel rail.

Cheers for the advice! Bit the bullet and took it to the shop. Turns out the cold start injector was indeed kaput. New injector fitted, and it's running like a dream now. Cost me 515€, but worth it for the peace of mind!
