C8 Hands Free Microphone Failure

My 2007 Citroen C8 with a gasoline engine has a complete failure of the hands-free microphone system at 84728 km. Telephony is impossible, and an error is stored. Could a defective infotainment system be the cause? What diagnostics would confirm this?

The volume controls work fine. The issue is only with speech recognition and the microphone. If Bluetooth is suspected, how can I tell if the fault is in the Bluetooth module or the infotainment system?

If it's limited to speech and the Bluetooth seems okay, and given the error memory, it sounds like the infotainment system itself. That usually means a trip to the workshop for diagnosis and potential replacement.
