C8 Sunroof Calibration

Hi, I'm having a strange issue with my 2007 Citroen C8 gasoline. The sunroof is giving me a 'not initialized' error. Now the sunblind gets stuck, and the convertible top can no longer be opened or closed! The sunblind also no longer retracts and extends. I've checked the fuses and wiring I can access, but no luck. Could coding carried out on the vehicle be the problem? Any ideas?

Your symptoms strongly suggest a calibration issue. I had a similar problem with a 2012 Volvo V70 after some software changes. The sunroof refused to function correctly, displaying a generic error. It turned out the sunroof control module needed to be reset and recalibrated to communicate properly with the car's computer. Were any software modifications performed on your Citroen recently?

Thanks for the info! Actually, yes, there were some coding changes done to enable some convenience features a few weeks back. Could that really mess with the sunroof like that? Is there anything I can try myself before taking it to a shop?

It is plausible that alterations to the vehicle's software could disrupt the sunroof's operational parameters, necessitating a recalibration procedure. While certain manufacturers provide DIY reset procedures, the intricate nature of modern sunroof systems often mandates specialized diagnostic tools. I recommend consulting a qualified workshop for recalibration. Attempting self-repair without suitable equipment might exacerbate the malfunction and potentially compromise the system's integrity.

Thanks a lot for your advice. I took it to a local garage, and they confirmed it was a calibration issue caused by the coding. They reset and recalibrated the sunroof for 75€, and it's working perfectly again. Appreciate the help!
