C8 Uneven Idling Error
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Citroen C8 with low mileage was experiencing uneven idling and an error message. The initial suspicion was a defective engine mount, possibly due to a faulty cable or plug connection. After a visual inspection showed no visible damage, it was suggested to have the mounts checked professionally. The workshop confirmed the issue was indeed with the engine mount, and after replacement, the vehicle's performance improved significantly.

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, I visually inspected all the motor mounts. Everything looks fine, no obvious cracks or tears. But could it still be the engine mount even if it looks okay? I'm wondering if it's maybe something internal within the mount itself.

It is quite possible. Sometimes the damage isn't visible to the naked eye. I would advise getting it checked out at a workshop.

Thanks! I appreciate the advice. Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. Turns out it was indeed the engine mount. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Runs like a dream now!

I had a similar issue with my C8. Defective engine mounts are not unheard of. Did you check all the motor mounts as well?
