Thanks for sharing your experience with the electrical system repair. The symptoms you described are exactly what I am dealing with right now. The constant warning signals and system failures are really concerning. Did you remember approximately how much the repair cost in your case? Also curious if you have had any recurring electrical issues since the fix was completed. The malfunction indicator in my DeVille started acting up again yesterday which makes me worried this could be an ongoing problem.

Following the advice, I took my Seville to an electrical specialist last week. The scan tool confirmed what I suspected, a faulty connection to the BUS system. Total repair cost came to 155€ for fixing the defective cable connection at the control unit. Great news is that since having this work done, all the warning signals and malfunction indicator problems have completely stopped. The audio system now works perfectly and those unusual electrical glitches are gone. No more error codes showing up during engine diagnostics either. Based on my experience, these symptoms definitely pointed to communication issues in the control modules. Getting a proper diagnosis from someone who understands these systems was key to resolving it permanently. If your DeVille is showing similar warning signals again, I would strongly recommend having the BUS system connections checked thoroughly.

Thanks everyone for the helpful advice. Finally found a shop specializing in GM electronics and got this sorted. The mechanic found corroded wiring harness connections exactly as described. Several warning signals were triggering due to poor communication between modules. Total repair came to 480€ including full diagnostics and replacement of damaged connectors. The system failure warnings disappeared immediately after repair. The malfunction indicator hasnt come on since, and the audio system works perfectly now. Really glad I sought a second opinion instead of continuing with my regular mechanic who seemed lost with the electrical diagnosis. The scan tool readings make much more sense now that the underlying wiring issues are fixed. What a relief to have this electrical gremlin resolved properly.

Having experienced similar issues with my 1998 Cadillac Seville STS, I can relate to these symptoms. The service required was indeed serious, as it involved the entire BUS system communication network. The root cause in my case was a deteriorated main wiring harness connection to the control unit. The warning lights and system failures were nearly identical, unusual electrical shutdowns, audio system issues, and constantly changing OBD-II codes. The malfunction indicator would illuminate sporadically, making diagnosis challenging. The repair process involved: 1. Complete diagnostic of the BUS system communication 2. Replacement of the main control unit connector 3. Rewiring of several corroded terminals 4. System reset and recalibration This was definitely not a quick fix job, it required specialized diagnostic equipment and expertise in automotive electrical systems. The issues completely resolved after proper repair, but finding a technician with experience in older Cadillac electrical systems was crucial. Considering your symptoms match these exactly, I would recommend seeking a specialist who specifically deals with GM electrical systems of this era. The changing error codes are a classic sign of compromised BUS system communication.
