Camaro Stiff Steering and Vibration

Having some issues with my 2015 Chevrolet Camaro with a gasoline engine. Lately, I've noticed increased effort required when steering, almost as if the power steering is failing intermittently. Also, the steering wheel vibrates/shakes at times. Mileage is at 96853 km. Suspect the steering angle sensor. Any thoughts?

I had similar symptoms on my 2018 Audi A4. The electronic stability control was going crazy. Turned out to be a faulty steering angle sensor. Was the coding checked?

Coding of the sensor? I wasn't aware that was a potential issue. Is that something I can check myself, or is specialized equipment needed?

Specialized equipment is needed for the coding. In my case, the garage confirmed the defective sensor via diagnostics. I would recommend going to the workshop. They will check the steering column and wheel alignment as well.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to a local shop, and you were spot on. The steering angle sensor was indeed defective, and the coding was faulty. Sensor replacement and recalibration cost me 195€. Steering is back to normal now.
