Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, the central locking works perfectly fine. So, you think the alarm control unit itself might be faulty? Did you try anything to fix it yourself, or did you take it straight to a professional?

Given that central locking is operational, the fault is very likely in the alarm control module programming, specifically a mismatch causing the system to lock up. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop for diagnostics and reprogramming. It needs specialized tools to access and correct the settings.

Appreciate the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. The alarm system had been coded incorrectly, activating the optical locking, which caused the issue. They recoded it, and it's working perfectly now. Cost me 45€, but worth it to have it fixed. Thanks again for your help!

I had a similar issue with my Camry. Does the central locking still work? If so, the alarm control unit may be the problem.
