Camry Hybrid fuel level sensor issue

I'm having a weird issue with my 2020 Toyota Camry Hybrid. The check engine light keeps popping on, and sometimes the engine even stalls when I'm idling, which is super annoying and a little scary! I took it to a local auto parts store, and they pulled an error code related to the fuel level sensor. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I've checked the gas cap to make sure it's on tight, and I even tried adding some fuel injector cleaner to the tank, but no luck. Could this be a simple fix, like a fuse, or am I looking at a bigger problem with the fuel tank?

Greetings. I encountered a similar issue with my 2017 Honda Civic a while back. Check engine light illuminated, pointing to a fuel sensor error. Do you know the specific error code? Is it consistent, or does it appear intermittently?

Thanks for the quick reply! The error code is P0461, which seems to confirm it's the fuel level sensor. It's pretty consistent, popping up within a day or two of clearing it. Any thoughts based on your experience with the Civic?

Indeed. The error code you cited is consistent with the problem I experienced. In my case, replacing the sensor assembly resolved the situation. However, I strongly advise consulting a qualified technician for proper diagnosis and repair to prevent unintended consequences.

Just wanted to let you know, and thank you again for the advice! I took my Camry to the shop, and you were right – it was the fuel level sensor! Turns out there was a defective fuse linked to it, which they replaced, along with the sensor itself, as it was faulty. Total cost was 52€, which isn't too bad, all things considered. Runs like a charm now!
