Camry Hybrid Fuel Pressure Sensor Issue

I have performed a cursory visual inspection of the wiring harness and connectors, and I did not observe any obvious damage. However, it is possible that there is a subtle defect that I overlooked. Regarding your question about engine temperature, the problem seems to be more pronounced when the engine is cold. Could this indicate a specific type of fault with the fuel pressure sensor or related components, and is there a way to test this?

The fact that the issue is more prominent when the engine is cold does strengthen the suspicion of a defective sensor or connection. Cold temperatures can exacerbate electrical problems. While a thorough diagnostic requires specialized equipment, the symptoms, combined with the cold-start issue, make it highly probable that your initial assessment is correct. It's similar to a leaky faucet; the drip might be small, but over time, it causes significant water loss. At this point, I would recommend a visit to a qualified workshop for a proper diagnosis and repair.

I took my 2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid to a local workshop, as you suggested. The mechanic confirmed the fuel pressure sensor was defective due to a faulty plug connection. The repair, including the new sensor and labor, amounted to 95€. The car is now running smoothly. Thanks again for your assistance!

The symptoms you describe could indeed point to a fuel pressure sensor issue. The rough running, stalling, and jerking under acceleration are consistent with fuel delivery problems. To be certain, have you checked for any obvious damage to the wiring harness or connectors near the fuel pressure sensor? Does the problem appear more when the engine is cold or hot? It's like trying to bake a cake with a faulty oven thermometer; you won't get the right results.
