Camry Immobilizer Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Toyota Camry Hybrid experienced an immobilizer issue where the engine wouldn't start or would briefly sputter and die, with an error indicating an immobilizer fault. The suspected cause was a discrepancy in the key's programming. A similar case was resolved by having the key's programming corrected at a workshop, which was recommended as the solution. The problem was successfully fixed by reprogramming the key, confirming the initial suspicion.

Fascinating! Could you elaborate on the specifics? Were there any additional peculiarities or nuances that you observed? Did the security light blink?

Yes, the security light was blinking rapidly. It seems we have similar experiences. The cause was a discrepancy in the key's programming. I had to visit a workshop where they fixed the key's programming. I recommend taking your Camry to a qualified technician for diagnosis and resolution.

Thanks for the guidance. I went to the workshop, and the technicians confirmed your assessment. The key's programming was off, and it cost 45€ to restore my Camry's immobilizer system. Your help was instrumental in resolving this.

I have a Camry Hybrid and had a similar problem recently. My symptoms were exactly the same: engine won't start, brief activity then stopping, and an immobilizer error. I did have problems with the remote start, could this be related?
