Camry NOx Sensor Exhaust Leak

I have a 2017 Toyota Camry with a gasoline engine and about 50887 km. The check engine light is on, and it's showing a NOx sensor error. I've also noticed a small exhaust leak. Could a bad cable or plug really be the only problem? I checked the exhaust and catalytic converter, but I don't see anything obvious. Could this be messing with the air-fuel ratio?

Check engine light, huh? My Camry's been throwing codes too. Similar thing – exhaust smell and all. NOx sensor, you say? I wonder if it's a common problem with these cars. Is yours burning more fuel than normal?

That's interesting. Can you give me more details about what your Camry was doing and what you checked? Was the error code exactly the same, pointing to the NOx sensor? Did you also see an exhaust leak?

Yep, NOx sensor code was the same. I didn't look into it too much myself; I just took it to a shop. They said the sensor was bad and replaced it. Did you think about taking it to a mechanic?

Thanks for sharing what happened with yours. I'm going to take it to a mechanic. The diagnostic pointed to a faulty connection and the repair was 95€.
