Camry reduced engine power

I own a 2000 Toyota Camry with a gasoline engine. I'm experiencing reduced engine power, and the auto scanner indicates an error. Has anyone encountered similar issues?

Oh dear, that sounds frustrating! Has this started happening suddenly, or did it develop gradually? Have you recently had any work done on your car, perhaps involving the car computer? A fault code could point to many things, but diminished power and a stored error suggest something's definitely amiss.

The issue arose abruptly. Regarding car computer work, could a faulty chip tuning by third-party providers be the cause?

Ah, an abrupt change is definitely more telling. Yes, that certainly could be the culprit! Incorrect chip tuning can wreak havoc on your engine's performance and throw off the car's computer readings. Considering the symptoms and the sudden onset, I strongly advise a workshop visit to check the mapping.

Thank you for the advice. The workshop confirmed faulty chip tuning. Repair cost: 180€.
