Camry turn signal lamp defective

I'm experiencing an odd issue with my 2017 Toyota Camry's gasoline engine. The turn signal lamp is defective. I'm getting an error stored in the error memory, an error message popping up on the speedometer, and a clear fault in the lighting itself. Based on initial diagnostics, it seems like a defective cable or plug connection is the likely culprit. Has anyone encountered this before? I want to avoid unnecessary part replacements.

Interesting. I had a somewhat similar lighting issue with my Camry recently, though not exactly the same symptoms. I was getting intermittent turn signal failures. Have you checked the flasher relay? It might be worth a look before diving into wiring harnesses.

Thanks for the suggestion! The flasher relay is definitely something to consider. Did your Camry display any specific error codes or messages when you experienced those failures? I'm trying to narrow down the possibilities before I start pulling things apart. Any additional details about your experience would be greatly appreciated.

No specific codes that I remember, but the turn signal was definitely erratic. Given the errors you are seeing, and the fact that it is a safety issue, I think you should go directly to a workshop. It could be a more complex electrical problem, and those can be tricky to diagnose without the right tools. Better safe than sorry!

Thanks for the advice and sharing your experience! It turned out to be a corroded connector in the turn signal assembly. A quick cleaning and re-connection did the trick, however, the mechanic suggested replacing the connector, so I went ahead and had it done. Total repair cost was 95€ including labor and the new connector. Appreciate the input!
