Caprice alarm malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Chevrolet Caprice experienced a malfunction in its anti-theft alarm system, rendering it non-functional and displaying an error. Battery seems fine, voltage is nominal. When you say 'similar issue,' do you mean the alarm was completely dead, or just randomly triggering? Was the root cause also related to the indicator lights?

Okay, voltage nominal rules out the weak battery. My Saab's alarm was randomly triggering. Eventually, it just gave up the ghost entirely. No, the indicator lights weren't the issue for me; it was a faulty sensor in the door. But electrical gremlins are like cockroaches - where there's one, there's probably more. Honestly, I'd take it to a workshop, let them hook it up to a proper diagnostic tool. Saves a lot of guesswork.

Thanks for the info. I took it to a shop, and the issue was indeed the alarm system coding for the indicators. They recoded it, and the alarm is working fine now. Repair cost was 45€.

Whoa, sounds like a headache! Had a similar issue with my old Saab 9-3. The alarm would just go off randomly, like it was having a party no one invited. Did you check for any signs of a power failure or battery drain? Sometimes a weak battery can cause these systems to act all kinds of crazy, like a toddler who missed their nap.
