Captiva Check Engine Light Fuel Pressure
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Chevrolet Captiva experienced a check engine light, engine stalling at idle, and reduced power after a fuel filter change at 68,993 km. The issue was suspected to be related to the fuel pressure regulator, especially given fluctuating fuel rail pressure sensor readings. After consulting with others who had similar issues, it was confirmed that the fuel pressure regulator was indeed faulty. Replacing the regulator resolved the problem, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Yeah, I saw the fuel rail pressure sensor value fluctuating wildly in the diagnostic readout. Could a faulty pressure sensor cause this, or is it more likely the regulator itself? I'm also noticing a dip in fuel efficiency.

For me, everything pointed to the fuel pressure regulator. It might be worth getting it properly diagnosed at a workshop. They can probably pinpoint the error entry and replace the defective part.

Thanks for the tip! Took it to the shop, and you nailed it. Error entry after fuel filter change fried the fuel pressure regulator. 45€ later and she's running smooth again. Appreciate the help!

CAPTIVA

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my Captiva, stalling and power loss. The check engine light was on too. Have you checked your fuel rail pressure? Maybe a pressure drop somewhere in the system.
