Captiva Diesel Fuel Composition Error
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Chevrolet Captiva diesel is experiencing issues with the check engine light and stalling at idle, with an error code indicating incorrect fuel composition. The initial troubleshooting involved checking the fuel lines. A suggestion was made to inspect the cable and plug connections to the fuel composition sensor, as a faulty connection could be the cause. Upon checking, it was confirmed that a defective plug connection was the issue, which was resolved by replacing it.

Interesting, so you're saying the sensor itself might be fine, just a dodgy connection? Where exactly is that sensor located? Want to rule that out before suspecting fuel contamination or internal combustion chamber issues.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm suggesting. In my case, the sensor connection was indeed faulty. But for a definitive diagnosis, I recommend visiting a reputable auto repair shop.

Turns out you were spot on! It was indeed a defective plug connection. Replaced it, cost me 95€. Thanks for the tip!

I had something similar happen with my Captiva (diesel as well). Have you checked the cable and plug connections? It could be the connector to the fuel composition sensor.
