The dashboard lights appear normal, no flickering or dimming. I haven't had any starter motor issues. Does this change your assessment?

Given the normal dashboard lights and no starter motor trouble, it leans towards the ignition switch or a related wiring issue. Diagnosing intermittent electrical problems can be tricky. My problems became persistent, and a technician identified a faulty ignition switch. If it persists, consult a workshop.

I appreciate the input. I consulted a technician who found it was the ignition switch. The repair cost was 52€. Thanks for your help.

I had a similar problem with my Captiva. Do the dashboard lights behave normally when you turn the key, or do they flicker or dim? Have you had any issues with the starter motor?
