Captiva oxygen sensor heater circuit failure
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Captiva diesel is experiencing a heater circuit failure in the oxygen sensor, leading to a check engine light and increased fuel consumption. The issue might be due to a defective cable or plug connection. A similar case was resolved by replacing the faulty oxygen sensor at a workshop, which restored normal function. Seeking professional assistance for the repair is recommended.

Thanks for the reply. What was the cause in your case? And did you fix it yourself?

No worries! In my case it was exactly what you are saying - the sensor was faulty, but I didn't want to mess with the exhaust system myself so I took it to a workshop. They replaced the sensor and all has been good since.

I appreciate the clarification. It seems a visit to a qualified workshop is the best idea. Thanks again for your time. The repair cost 95€ at my local workshop.

Hey! I had a similar problem with my Captiva. Check engine light, higher fuel consumption, the works. Was the O2 sensor.
