Captiva oxygen sensor heater circuit failure

Hi, I have a 2007 Captiva diesel with 203085 km. The diagnostic system says there's a heater circuit failure in the oxygen sensor. The check engine light is on and fuel consumption has increased. I think it might be a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone had this?

Hey! I had a similar problem with my Captiva. Check engine light, higher fuel consumption, the works. Was the O2 sensor.

Thanks for the reply. What was the cause in your case? And did you fix it yourself?

No worries! In my case it was exactly what you are saying - the sensor was faulty, but I didn't want to mess with the exhaust system myself so I took it to a workshop. They replaced the sensor and all has been good since.

I appreciate the clarification. It seems a visit to a qualified workshop is the best idea. Thanks again for your time. The repair cost 95€ at my local workshop.
