Yeah, I checked the fluid. It's not burnt or low, but it's definitely not brand new either. How did you finally diagnose yours? What did the shop do to confirm it was the converter and not something else, like the solenoids?

The shop ran tests, including checking the solenoid operation and transmission pressure. But the real giveaway was the lock-up clutch test – it just wasn't holding. Honestly, after all the diagnostics, they just said the converter was shot and needed replacing. Best to get it checked out by a pro before you do any serious damage.

Thanks for the info. I took it to a shop, and you were right – torque converter failure. The lock-up clutch is toast. Repair is gonna run me about 2120€. Ouch. At least I know what it is now!

Sounds rough! I had a similar issue with my old Saab 9-3. Same symptoms - lights, slipping, weird noises. Turned out to be the torque converter as well. Have you checked the transmission fluid level and condition? That's where I started.
