Captur air flap fault

Good morning. I have an annoying problem on my Renault Captur, 2016 diesel, with 99739 km. The check engine light is on, and the engine is overheating. A diagnostic scan shows an active air flap fault. My mechanic suspects a defective electromechanism in the thermal management system. Has anyone else experienced this? He's estimating around 590€ for the repair, which stings!

Ugh, air flaps! I had something similar happen on my Captur. Check engine light, the whole shebang. Was yours throwing any specific fault codes?

Yes, it's throwing a code related to the air flap electromechanism. Did you end up replacing the entire flap assembly, or was it something simpler?

Nah, sadly it wasn't simple. Had to replace the whole assembly. Honestly, with the overheating issue too, I'd just bite the bullet and get it sorted at a workshop. Cooling systems are not to mess with.

Thanks for the insight! I was hoping it would be a quick fix, but it sounds like I'm in for the full repair. I appreciate you sharing your experience. It's booked in at the workshop now, hopefully it sorts the overheating issue as well.
