Captur battery draining

My 2013 Renault Captur diesel is giving me grief. The battery keeps draining, showing an error on the dash, lights are dimming, and it's struggling to start. Error memory says something is up with the battery. Anyone seen this?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my Captur. Check the battery sensor – that was the culprit for me. Are your battery terminals clean?

Battery sensor? Where exactly is that located, and how do I check it? Terminals look okay to me, a bit corroded though. Is that a problem?

Corroded terminals are not ideal, clean them up first using sandpaper. But most likely the battery sensor unit is faulty. It is connected to the minus pole of your battery. I ended up taking mine to a workshop, they said it’s a common issue.

Thanks a lot for the tip! Took it to the workshop just like you suggested. Turns out it WAS the battery sensor. Cost me 315€ to replace, but at least it's sorted now! Cheers!
