Captur brake booster pressure sensor failure
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Renault Captur experienced weak braking and a speedometer error, suspected to be due to a failing brake booster pressure sensor. The issue was linked to recent brake bleeding, which may have been done incorrectly, allowing air into the brake lines and affecting pressure readings. Re-bleeding the brakes resolved the problem, restoring normal braking and clearing the error, confirming the sensor was not faulty.

That's interesting! Yes, I had the brakes bled recently. How would incorrect bleeding cause this sensor issue? I'm trying to understand how that works.

Basically, if the brake system isn't bled properly, air can get trapped in the lines. This messes with the pressure readings the sensor expects, triggering the error. If it was recent, I'd suggest taking it back to the shop that did the brake bleeding. They probably owe you a fix. If not, a new sensor will cost around 90€.

Thanks so much for the help! Incorrect brake bleeding was the problem. I took it back to the shop, they re-bled the system, and the error is gone. The braking is back to normal! The sensor was fine. The repair cost 90€. I'm very grateful!

Hey, I drive a Captur too. Sounds like what I had a while back. Did you recently get your brakes bled? That was the issue for me. Incorrect bleeding can mess with the pressure and trigger those sensors.
