Captur crankshaft camshaft error

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2021 Renault Captur hybrid. The check engine light keeps popping up, and the car feels sluggish, like it's lost power. The engine response is awful, and I'm using way more fuel than usual. My local garage ran a diagnostic and it's showing a 'crankshaft to camshaft reference value' error. Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be the crank sensor? I'm getting nervous...

I had something similar happen with my Captur. Same symptoms, reduced power and the light. Have you checked the timing belt? Is the mileage high?

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the timing belt myself, no. The car has about 244829 km on the clock. Did you also get that crankshaft error code?

Yes, it was the same error. I'd suggest taking it to a reputable workshop to get it checked out properly. It could be a faulty crank sensor throwing everything off. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on – it was the crank sensor. Replaced it and all is well again. Total cost was 340€. Appreciate the help!
