Captur cruise control failure
Summary of the thread
The cruise control on a 2015 Renault Captur diesel stopped working, with an error stored but no dashboard warning light. Possible causes considered were a fuse, speed sensor, or throttle position issue. A suggestion was made to check connections and fuses, as a similar issue in another vehicle was due to a faulty connection. The problem was resolved by identifying and repairing a defective plug connection.

Thanks. Which connections do you suggest I check specifically? I checked the fuse box, and all fuses related to control systems look fine. Is there a specific location for these cable connections?

On my Volvo, the culprit was a corroded connector near the wheel well – damp environment over time. Not sure about the Captur. Given the error code, get it professionally diagnosed. It could be a defective cable or a faulty plug connection. The peace of mind is worth it.

Thank you, that's helpful. It was indeed a defective plug connection, as you suggested. Repair cost was 95€. All working now!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar cruise control failure in my old Volvo. No lights, just dead. It ended up being a faulty connection somewhere. Like a garden hose with a kink – everything looked okay, but the flow was cut off. Have you checked the obvious connections and fuses?
