Captur cruise control fault

Hey, Captur owners, cruise control problem here! My 2016 Renault Captur diesel's cruise control just quit at 101611 km. Speedometer shows an error, and cruise obviously doesn't work. Hooked it up to a reader and there's an error stored. Seen this before? Anything simple to check?

Summary of the thread

A 2016 Renault Captur diesel experienced a cruise control failure at 101,611 km, with an error displayed on the speedometer. A possible cause suggested was a defective cable or plug connection related to the throttle body actuator. The owner was advised to inspect for corrosion or loose connections, but ultimately, a professional workshop was recommended for a precise diagnosis. The issue was resolved at the workshop, confirming a faulty connection to the actuator, and the cruise control was restored.

Interesting issue. I own a Renault Captur and had something similar. The issue might stem from a defective cable or plug connection related to the throttle body actuator. Could that be it? Investigate the connections to see if they are corroded or loose.

Throttle body actuator, eh? Where is that located, and is it easy to get to? Anything specific to look for when checking the connections? I'm guessing it's not just unplug and plug back in?

The throttle body actuator is typically near the throttle body in the engine compartment. But, considering modern vehicle electronics, be cautious. Inspecting for corrosion or looseness is a good first step, but diagnosing the root cause might need professional equipment and expertise. For a precise diagnosis and proper repair, I recommend a qualified workshop. They can perform a comprehensive assessment and pinpoint the cause. I did this when I had similar issues and it was the most reliable solution.

Cheers! Took your advice and went to a workshop. It WAS a dodgy connection to the actuator, like you said. 95€ later, cruise control is back. Thanks for the tip!
