Captur engine overheating

So, the speed sensor affects the radiator fan? I haven't noticed any unusual noises from the fan, just that it doesn't seem to be running when the engine is hot. Could you give me more details on how the speed sensor is linked to the fan?

The speed sensor tells the car's computer how fast the engine is running, and that influences when the radiator fan turns on. Because it's faulty, your car doesn't know when to cool down. To be safe, I'd recommend getting it checked by a mechanic. They can properly diagnose the issue and replace the faulty sensor. I ended up paying around 250€ for the repair.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I'll take it to a workshop and have them check the speed sensor and the radiator fan. Appreciate the help!

I have a Captur too, though I'm not sure about the year. I had similar overheating issues last year. It turned out to be a faulty speed sensor that was causing the radiator fan to not kick in when it should. The engine would get hot, especially in traffic. Is your fan making any weird noises at all?
