Captur Fog Sensor Air Con Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2013 diesel Captur is experiencing issues with the fog sensor, leading to failures in the air conditioning, windshield spray, and mirror heating. The problem is suspected to be caused by a defective cable or plug, possibly due to corrosion in the wiring harness near the sensor. It is suggested to inspect the wiring for signs of corrosion, such as green or white powder, and consider professional diagnosis and repair if necessary. The root cause was confirmed to be the wiring.

Thanks. Could you elaborate on the wiring harness location and signs of corrosion? Is it easily accessible?

It's near the base of the rearview mirror, where the sensor sits. You might need to remove the plastic cover to get a good look. Corrosion can look like green or white powder on the wires or connectors. Honestly, though, if you're not comfortable doing that, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They can diagnose it properly and fix the wiring if that's the problem.

Thanks for the advice. I'm taking it to a workshop for diagnosis and repair. The root cause was indeed the wiring!

Hey, I've had something similar with my Captur. Same symptoms - air con not kicking in, frozen washer jets, and the heated mirrors were useless. The fog sensor was throwing up errors too. Have you checked the wiring harness near the sensor itself? They're known to get a bit corroded and cause issues. It's worth a look before you start replacing parts.
