Captur Fuel Flap Issue

I've got a problem with my 2018 Renault Captur diesel. The fuel flap release has quit working, and I'm seeing an error stored in the memory. The fuel filler flap refuses to lock or unlock, which is also causing some other vehicle functions to be unavailable. I'm suspecting a defective linkage. Anyone else encountered this?

Interesting. I have a Renault Captur too. I vaguely remember encountering something similar. Was the release button completely unresponsive? Have you checked the fuse box? It might be something simple before you start tearing things apart.

Yeah, the release button is totally dead. Fuse box, you say? Which fuse would that be, specifically? I can't seem to find any information about a dedicated fuel flap fuse in the manual. Is it perhaps sharing a circuit with something else?

Okay, mine was a while ago now, so I am hazy on the specifics, and I am not too versed in technical details. I just remember the symptoms were similar. Given that the button is dead, and you're getting errors and other functions are down, it points to something more than just a fuse though. I would say it is time to visit a workshop. Sounds like it could be more complex, and perhaps covered under warranty if you still have it.

Appreciate the input. I had it checked out. Turns out the fuel flap release mechanism was indeed faulty. Cost me 210€ to get it sorted. At least it's done. Thanks for the advice about seeking professional help!
