Thanks for the insight. By "relevant components", are you referring specifically to the fuel injectors and the mass airflow sensor, or are there other areas I should be focusing on? I'm trying to narrow down the scope before I start probing with a multimeter.

Yes, primarily the fuel injectors and MAF sensor, but also consider the throttle position sensor and oxygen sensors. Since it's a hybrid, also check the connections related to the electric motor integration, although the symptoms point more directly to the injection system. However, with those symptoms, I'd strongly advise a diagnostic check at a workshop.

Much appreciated for the advice. It turned out to be a defective plug connection on one of the fuel injectors, just as you suspected. A quick clean and reseat seems to have resolved the problem, and fuel consumption is back to normal. Total cost was 95€ for the diagnostic and repair. Thanks again!

The symptoms you describe suggest a problem with either the fuel or air mixture. Given the age of the vehicle and mileage, it's possible a sensor is failing or a connector has become loose. Have you checked the cable and plug connections to the relevant components? Sometimes a simple reseating can resolve intermittent issues.
