Captur Oxygen Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Renault Captur diesel with 114,793 km has a recurring check engine light and increased fuel consumption, with diagnostics indicating a failing oxygen sensor. The issue may stem from a defective cable or plug, or the sensor itself failing due to high mileage. Suggestions include checking the sensor's wiring for loose connections and consulting a workshop for a thorough examination and potential replacement of the sensor, which resolved the problem and normalized fuel consumption.

Thanks for the quick reply. Could you say which wiring you checked? Also, did the diagnostic scans point to the oxygen sensor, or were there other error codes?

Yeah, the scan pointed to the oxygen sensor, but the garage said it was likely the sensor connection. They wanted 95€ to replace it. I'd suggest a workshop, since the air-fuel ratio is important. They have the tools to find the issue.

Thanks. I'll get a mechanic to examine the oxygen sensor and wiring. Replacing the sensor fixed the error, and the fuel consumption is back to normal. Thanks again!

I had something similar with my Captur. I'm not sure about the engine, but the symptoms sound familiar. Have you checked the wiring to the sensor? Sometimes a loose connection can throw things off. It could also be the sensor failing after all those kilometers.
