Captur start stop problems

Interesting. I hadn't considered the battery specifically, as the car starts fine otherwise. How did you eventually figure out that was the problem?

Well, I initially thought the same, that because the engine started, the battery must be ok. But these systems are complex. The start-stop needs a healthy battery to function correctly due to the frequent engine start. My local workshop hooked it up to diagnostics and straight away saw the battery was struggling. They mentioned it's a common issue, especially with the frequent short journeys a hybrid often does. It might be time to visit the garage.

Thanks! I appreciate the insight. I'll get the battery checked out pronto. Local garage says it's 290€ for a new one + fitting, but it's worth it to get rid of this stress.

Sounds familiar! I've got a Captur too, and I had similar issues with the start-stop a while back. If I remember correctly, it was the car battery being heavily discharged, maybe even defective. Have you had the battery tested? Modern hybrids are super sensitive to voltage drops.
