Caravan Audio System Failure
Summary of the thread
The audio system in a 2011 Nissan Caravan is completely non-functional, with no sound or display, and an error memory indicating a fault. Initial checks have not identified the cause, but a display defect is suspected. A similar issue in another vehicle was resolved by replacing the head unit due to an internal fault, suggesting that a similar solution may be necessary for the Caravan.

Crackle and Bluetooth issues, huh? Interesting. Did your Renault's display also fail completely? Trying to narrow down if it's a common failure mode before I start tearing things apart.

Yep, display was totally black, like someone pulled the plug. After messing with it for ages, I just gave up and took it to a workshop. Turned out to be some internal fault in the head unit. Cost me a small fortune to replace, I tell you!

Thanks for confirming. Sounds like I'm facing a similar fate. Diagnostic points to display issue, repair cost est. 725€. Will take it in. Appreciate the input.

Ugh, I feel your pain! Had a similar gremlin in my old Renault Scenic. The whole head unit went kaput. Started with speaker crackle and audio quality dropping, then nothing. Checked all the wiring myself, but couldn't find anything obvious. Bluetooth was wonky before it died completely. What a nightmare!
