Caravan Heating Issue

I have a 2007 Nissan Caravan with a gasoline engine and the heating isn't working as well as it used to. The output feels significantly lower. A diagnostic showed an error code related to the defrost air distribution flap. Could a defective cable or plug connection be the cause? Has anyone experienced this? Mileage is 136184 km.

I have a Caravan too. I remember a similar issue. Reduced heating output and that error code ring a bell. Have you checked the basic stuff like coolant level and whether the heater core is getting hot? My temperature regulation seemed all over the place, and the windshield would fog up easily.

Coolant levels are fine, and I think the heater core is okay. Where should I be looking for this cable or plug connection? Is it easily accessible, or will I have to take apart half the dashboard?

Unless you're very comfortable working on car electrics, I wouldn't recommend messing with it too much. The flap motor is usually buried pretty deep. Given the error code and the hassle, taking it to a trusted workshop might be the best approach to prevent further damage. The garage fixed the cable connection in no time for me.

I suspected it might be a bit beyond my abilities! I'll book it in with a local garage. It's useful to have some background information. They quoted me around 95€ for the repair, which sounds reasonable.
