Cavalier engine misfires
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Chevy Cavalier with 71,000 km is experiencing engine misfires, rough idling, and poor throttle response, with the check engine light on. Initial checks of the spark plugs showed no issues, but the problem persisted. The cause was identified as a defective fuel injector, which was confirmed and resolved by a workshop, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Throttle response is definitely not great. Spark plugs looked ok when I checked them, but I didn't replace them. What was the cause in your case?

Yeah, the bad throttle response confirms it, sounds like what I had. I thought it was the plugs at first too, but replacing them didn't solve anything. In the end, it turned out to be a defective fuel injector. You might want to get it checked out by a workshop.

Thanks for the insight! I took it to a shop, and you were spot on - faulty injector. Repair cost me 515€. Runs like new now!

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms in my Cavalier. Rough idle, check engine light... was your throttle response also bad? Have you checked your spark plugs yet? Could be a simple fix.
