Cavalier knock sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Chevy Cavalier is experiencing issues with the check engine light, poor fuel consumption, and rough idling. The problem is suspected to be related to the knock sensor, possibly due to a bad connection. A similar case was resolved by addressing a defective plug connection to the sensor. It is advised to have a professional handle the repair to avoid further complications.

So, you think it's worth messing with the wiring myself? I'm not a total newbie, but I don't wanna screw things up worse, you know? Like, how involved was it?

Honestly, if you're not 100% comfortable, I'd say just take it to a shop. I tried fiddling with mine and almost broke the connector. For me, the defective plug was definitely the cause of the malfunction indicator coming on. The repair cost me 95€ back then.

Alright, you've convinced me. I'll book it in with a local garage. Seems like chasing a dodgy wire isn't worth the hassle and potential risk. Thanks for the heads-up!

Yeah, I had something similar happen on my Cavalier. Not sure what year mine is, but it's definitely the same engine. The warning light kept popping up, and the car felt sluggish. Have you checked the cable and plug connection to the sensor itself? That was the culprit for me back then.
