Cavalier Mixture Preparation Error
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Chevrolet Cavalier is experiencing a mixture preparation error, leading to reduced engine power, check engine light, rough running, jerking acceleration, and occasional stalling. A defective injector is suspected as the cause. Suggestions include checking the fuel injection system, oxygen sensor, mass airflow sensor, and intake manifold for leaks. Ultimately, the diagnosis confirmed a defective injector as the root cause, and the issue was resolved with a repair.

Thank you for the suggestions. Did you experience all the same symptoms (stalling, jerking)? Did your issue also point towards the injector being defective?

Yes, the stalling and jerking were definitely present. While the initial diagnosis hinted at other sensors, ultimately, a defective injector was indeed the root cause in my case. I'd recommend having a workshop confirm the diagnosis.

I appreciate the confirmation. I followed your advice and took it to a workshop. The diagnosis was indeed a defective injector and the repair cost 515€. Thank you for your help!

I had a similar issue with my Cavalier. Check the fuel injection system thoroughly. A rich mixture could also be caused by a faulty oxygen sensor or even the mass airflow sensor. Inspect the intake manifold for any leaks as well.
