Ccrosser Belt Handover Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Citroen Ccrosser gasoline engine experienced a malfunction with its belt-handover mechanism at 22,516 km, suspected to be due to a defective belt bringer/handover. A similar issue was identified in another vehicle, where a faulty belt tensioner caused the belt to misalign and slip. The problem was confirmed to be a defective belt tensioner, which was subsequently repaired.

Thanks. The tensioner pulley seems to be the problem. Did your Volvo have the same handover symptoms? I'm trying to determine the scope and verify this is the right issue.

Yes, exactly the same thing. The belt started walking because the tensioner wasn't keeping proper tension. Eventually, the belt started to slip and the car was overheating. Given your assessment points to the tensioner as well, I would certainly bring it to a trusted mechanic.

I appreciate the confirmation and advice. The workshop verified that the belt tensioner was indeed defective, as we suspected. The total repair cost was 455€ Thank you again for your help.

Sounds like a bad belt tensioner. I had a similar issue with my old Volvo, albeit a different setup. Serpentine belt was squealing, and eventually, the belt started walking off the pulleys. Have you checked the tensioner pulley itself? It's a common culprit when the handover isn't working right.
