Ccrosser brake pedal feedback

My 2007 Citroen Ccrosser (gasoline engine) with 90146 km is exhibiting strange feedback from the brake pedal. ABS and EBD systems appear to be functioning nominally. I suspect undervoltage is impacting the hydraulic brake booster. Any insights?

Undervoltage? That's a new one for brake issues. I had similar symptoms - spongy pedal, extended stopping distances - with my old 2012 Volvo XC60. Turned out to be failing brake calipers, causing uneven pad wear and reduced hydraulic pressure. How did you arrive at the undervoltage diagnosis?

The undervoltage was flagged during a diagnostic scan – intermittent errors across multiple modules. I know the Ccrosser shares components with other PSA vehicles; did you experience any recurring electrical faults prior to the brake issues?

Ah, I see. No, I didn't have any apparent electrical gremlins before my Volvo's brake issue surfaced. Just the brake symptoms themselves. Given the diagnostic scan results, it might be worth having a workshop check the entire brake system for potential leaks and, specifically, the brake calipers. Don't wait until it's too late.

Thanks for the advice. It proved to be the brake system after all. Workshop confirmed worn discs and pads and some caliper issues, consistent with your Volvo experience. Repair cost: 240€
