Ccrosser check engine light and exhaust leak

My Citroen Ccrosser 2011 diesel (156050 km) has an intermittent check engine light, reduced power, and higher fuel consumption. Could this be a faulty exhaust temperature sensor? I checked for visible damage but found nothing.

I had very similar symptoms in my Ccrosser. Have you inspected the exhaust system for any leaks? Temperature fluctuations could be triggered by a small crack, as that was the issue with mine.

Thanks. Regarding the exhaust system, where did you find the leak? Was it near a specific exhaust component or sensor?

It was near the exhaust temperature sensor itself. I recommend taking your vehicle to a workshop to check for exhaust system leaks. A sensor replacement may be unavoidable.

Thanks for the feedback. I took the Ccrosser to a workshop, and they confirmed a leak in the exhaust system near the temperature sensor, as you suggested. The sensor was replaced; total repair cost was 265€.
