Ccrosser steering problems

I'm getting seriously annoyed with my 2010 Citroen Ccrosser (gasoline engine). It's got almost 190k km on it, and the steering is acting up BIG TIME. Feels like the power steering is cutting out sometimes, making it super hard to turn. And the steering wheel is vibrating like crazy. Anyone else had this?

Sounds familiar. I had something similar happen with my Ccrosser. Any lights on the dash? Have you checked your traction control? If the steering angle sensor is faulty it may trigger that as well. You'll need a diagnostic check.

Traction control light is on, now that you mention it! Steering angle sensor... is that something serious? Like, alignment problems serious?

The steering angle sensor tells the car the position of the steering wheel. If the coding is faulty, it will cause issues. A diagnostic check should confirm it. Best to take it to a workshop; could be the source of the issue.

You were spot on! Workshop diagnosed it as a defective steering angle sensor, coding was faulty as suspected. Cost me 195€ to fix, including wheel alignment, but the shaking and hard steering are gone! Thanks for the help!
