Check engine light air valve issue
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Lexus UX owner experienced a persistent check engine light, suspecting an air valve issue. A similar case suggested checking the hose connection from the air pump to the valve, as a cracked hose can cause rough idling. The recommendation was to have a workshop diagnose and replace the hose, which resolved the issue, eliminating the check engine light and improving the vehicle's performance.

Thanks for the tip! Yeah, the idle is definitely a bit rough sometimes. Where exactly is that hose located? Is it easy to get to, or am I going to need special tools?

It's a bit tricky to get to without lifting the car, but the hose runs from the air pump, near the front of the engine, to the air valve. Honestly, based on your description, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. They can diagnose it properly and replace the hose. Cost me around 175€ last time.

Okay, I think I'll do that. Sounds like it's more involved than I thought. Thanks so much for the advice! Turns out it was exactly what you said – a cracked hose. New hose, light's gone, and she's running smooth. You saved me a ton of guesswork!

I had a similar issue with my UX. Check the hose connection from the pump to the valve. Mine was cracked and causing all sorts of idle problems. Is your idle rough? It could also be related to vacuum hoses, the throttle body, or even manifold pressure.
